Podcasts for kids: Griffin's recs

We started listening to podcasts for a reason that was truly selfish: I needed question-free time in the car. My brain gets overloaded with the tasks of the day + two kids + planning things + 2301 questions a minute + driving, so I started picking out some podcasts. Griffin, at five, listens quietly. Very rarely will he interrupt with a question - he usually saves them for the end, or connects things a few days later. Here are some of our favorites:

TED Radio Hour
Stuff You Should Know
This American Life
Stuff to Blow Your Mind
Brains On!

His favorite, by far, is Brains On!. With catchy music, the mystery sound, and science, there's no beating it. I don't mind listening to it an adult, either. I especially like that the episodes are of variety length - I usually route our trip on Waze then pick out a podcast that is about the same length. Otherwise, he begs to stay in the car until it's finished!

We've learned some really cool stuff from these podcasts. I'm taking recommendations for others if anyone has them! We don't mind if they're not geared towards kids but have to be fairly kid-engaging, which can be anything from human interest stories to science to history to geography.
