My hips ACHE. My feet are tired, there's something pinching me in my back, my brain is spinning. But the first day back was good, good, good.
A quick analysis: Eleventh graders are comfortable. Freshman are a trip. English is familar yet distant; Spanish feels the same. I have a new lunch, which means I'll have an almost solid two hours in the middle of my day, between my English AM and my Spanish PM. Perfection.
Also: apparently my haircut makes me look 18 again. Three separate kids thought I was a student! I haven't decided if that's good or bad.
Griffin handled the day pretty smoothly, too - he happily played with trucks while I snuck out of daycare, he napped for a bit, continued munching on snack when I arrived, and went down for a nap when I got home. He seemed to enjoy seeing his old friends again, and has quickly befriended the eldest boy in the room. Sounds like me.
Lots of work to do to get ready for tomorrow, but I'm excited for this year.
